FAMLI’s first chapters of proposed regulations are published
We are pleased to announce that the first Chapters of the proposed regulations for Maryland’s forthcoming Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) system are now published in the Maryland Register. Written comments on Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5 are due by November 17, 2025. Written comments on Chapter 4 are due by December 1, 2025. Please email written comments to [email protected].
Regulations are the rules for the FAMLI system. Before writing the regulations, we hosted 9 informal engagement sessions, released 12 discussion documents, shared 2 drafts of regulations, and heard from Maryland employers and workers during more than 85 public presentations. The proposed regulations incorporate the feedback we heard to meet the needs of workers and employers in Maryland.
